The 10-day Berlin China Exective Programme is highly practical. In the first six days, students will comprehensively participate in the 69th Berlin International Film Festival. During the 6-day Berlinale field-trip, students will be able to attend screenings of major sections both in competition and out of competition, attend Berlinale Talents events and have a guided tour at European Film Market. On the last day, students will have a guided tour to Filmmuseum Potsdam and attend the closing ceremony of the Programme.


The middle part of the Programme is comprised of a range of masterclass sessions and case studies to be delivered over three days. The course will include specialist British and International experts at each workshop who are highly respected professionals in their respective expertise, and where relevant the Programme Director Dr. Angus will source international contacts in sales, finance and distribution to add value to the delivery.


The primary areas covered are:

  • The entertainment value chain

  • Film finance systems and co-production

  • The art of negotiation

  • International sales and marketing strategies

  • The future of film distribution and digital developments

  • The case study of The King’s Speech


This new spring programme explores the entire film business, embracing world and national cinema, non-Hollywood film production, financing, sales, distribution and marketing, alongside coproduction and digital strategies for the future.


This programme provides students with the key business tools and contacts needed to build a career in the international film industry.The objective is that each cohort member will have a solid understanding of the international film industry’s structure and practices before examining strategies in more details and have memorable film experiences in Berlin.
